Hey warbirdcrew,
Aren't you being a little biased... lol...
I love that plane too. Where'd it end up?
Cheers,

I suppose one could consider me a little partial to that airplane. There are a few versions of the airplane's demise, but the actual story was that it was shot down by the Mexican Air Force in 2004 while running drugs and the last we heard it was still sitting on the beach somewhere in Mexico. The Mexican police caught three of the four smugglers who were on the airplane and the newspaper article said that the authorities were "investigating possible links in Canada" because the airplane was still painted in the RCAF scheme albeit with a new Mexican registration

Holy cow,
now that's a story I wasn't expecting!!! I was just wondering who purchased it from your grandfather. I had no idea the airplane was shot down.. Yikes. Poor thing.

Great shots, Jack.
I've ridden in that last SNJ and, well remember JJ taking that Albatross into the lake near my house. Really pi##ed off the neighbors
And get JJ and Merrill Wien talking about flying amphibs and the stories won't stop for an hour...
