B-17 Movies Updated

Wed Oct 17, 2007 12:34 pm

I added four movies that used B-17s in bit parts to the B-17 Movie page located at http://www.aerovintage.com/b17mov.htm.

Added:

The High and the Mighty (1954)

Top of the World (1956)

Don't Look Now, We're Being Shot At (1966)

Biggest Bundle of Them All (1968)

Great stuff. Well, not really, but it fills in a few holes.

By the way, I am trying to beg, borrow, or steal a VHS or DVD copy of The Thousand Plane Raid so I can add that movie.

Hi Scott,
Yes, I do appreciate the work you put into the movie listings!!!

TCM ran Flying Fortress recently and I saw about the first half before I fell asleep (just tired, not bored!) and there's some good shots of RAF B-17Cs - I'll have to record it next time it airs.

Biggest Bungle - er, Bundle of Them All had that IGN B-17 painted in a quickie OD scheme; (spoiler alert) the crooks loaded the gold in the plane and took off but accidentally opened the bomb bay doors and dropped it all, ha ha - the end.

Scott, I have a DVD copy of "THOUSAND PLANE RAID" I can send You (Free) Let Me know Your name & address in a PM. I'll also send You another "lost" WW2 film with the most INCREDIBLE B-17 footage ever!! It's called "An American Romance" & has the most fascinating razor-sharp COLOR B-17 film footage I've ever seen. Your eyes will pop out of Your skull when You see it!!
Keep up the good work... Digger
