Spotted Thunderbird T-28

Fri Oct 12, 2007 7:11 am

I was driving by the Wright Brothers Airport on the southside of Dayton yesterday and caught a brief glimpse of a beuatiful T-28 in the colors of the Thunderbirds.

Does anyone here know the bird I'm talk about, or who the owner is? Or even better, have any pictures of it? I only saw it for a spilt second as I was heading into work

Thanks

A T-28? no.

A T-38? yes.

Like this?

I think it may belong to some guy named Perot?

Must have been a real early model T-38 then...the one with Radial engine and propeller mounted on the front of them.

No I'm quite confident it was a T-28 Trojan. I passed by it while driving but I was on 50 ft from it, so I got a clear if not brief view of it.

I'll go back tomorrow and see if I can get some pictures of it. Hopefully it wasn't just passing through.

It is an A-model and it is based there. Was at one time owned by Dave Burnap. Not sure if he still owns it.
