Hi guys;
Once again, I got a call today from a friend who is looking for information about a P-38 that crashed in Bristol, CT on July 6, 1942.
The aircraft serial number he gave me is 41-2341 and the P-38 crashed while making an emergency landing at the Bristol Airport (which was way too short and no longer exists). It seems the pilot didn't want to give his name to the newspapers. There doesn't seem to be a crash record on the aircraft even though it destroyed one engine nacelle and ended up on it's nose!
Does anybody have any leads on this?
Thanks.
Jerry
