Warbird blueprints question

Fri Sep 14, 2007 10:37 am

This has probably been discussed before but what became of blueprints from the various companies such as Boeing and North American that made bombers such as the B-17, B-29 and B-25 and fighters like the P-51. Were they considered government owned property, and as such, it would have been at the government's discretion whether to keep these blueprints or dispose of them when production ceased?

You can get most of them on microfilm from the National Air and Space Museum.

That's interesting news. Thanks I wasn't sure if they still existed somewhere or were lost years ago when the manufacturing tooling and dyes were destroyed.

Warbird blueprints are also available from commercial vendors.
