I am not sure what is public info and what is not. You should likely expect to see a press release in the next month or so.

Hey Mike,

As usual, outstanding work!

I noticed that the Lizzie had her engine removed for overhaul... where does one send a Bristol Mercury to be overhauled these days?

Thanks!

Sorry to stray off topic, just wondered if you could give me some information since you live in that area and because Vintage Wings is involved. Do you know what the Battle of Britain ceremony is like in Ottawa on the 16th? I'm considering going there, would I have a chance to take pictures of the aircraft flying, or does the flying take place at a time when it would be innapropriate to be clicking away? ie, during moment of silence, while something else in the ceremony is going on etc. Sorry again for going off topic. Back on topic, thanks for the great pictures, I'm going to try and make it out for one of the open houses next year since I never did make it this year. I assume there will be open houses next year?

There is mention of the sabre on the main site under the headline of flying the cv580 home to the NRC. I wont post it here but you can see it from the main site look for
Reflections of a flying career
and click onto it. It sounds very interesting and I wish them all the best!

Peter it will be great to see a Sabre in the Golden Hawks colour scheme in the air again.

Hey Michel, I thought that registration sounded familiar. This is a shot of you landing at Rockcliffe for the Air Rallye.

As for the BoB Ceremony, last year the aircraft made several passes in formation and separate. The Lancaster operated out of Gatineau and did not land at Rockcliffe but the fighters landed and stayed for a few hours. It should be a good event.

I read on a government website yesterday if you wish to attend the event on Sunday you should be there by 10:30 at the latest. Assuming the weather holds there will be a practice flight on Saturday as well. Assuming you don't want to go into the event there are excellant view points off either end of the runway, although it may take a bit of walking to get to them depending on where you park.

There will be more open house events at VWoC next year, although they won't be doing as many and perhaps going to more airshows. There won't likely be any details on this until next spring.

There is a possibility the Lizzie will be flown in that paint job before going through a deep inspection. Perhaps we will see the Lizzie in the air before the initially anticipated 18 months has passed.

Oh, that would be sweet! One day we may see two flying in formation around Ontario.
