Hispano ME-109s in the US

Fri Sep 07, 2007 11:37 am

How many of these are there? I know there are a large number that are stored and not in flying condition, but I am wondering how many there are that have been flying in, say, the past 10 years.

Any info or pictures would be great!

Thanks,

Tom P.

There's only the Harold Kindavater example flying at present AFAIK. The CAF one hasn't flown for about 3 years, and has been for sale since then with no takers, and the Planes of Fame one hasn't flown since being damaged whilst filming 'Pearl Harbor' in the UK. Cavanuagh have 'retired' theirs to the museum as well, I believe.

Does Connie Edwards still have about 6 of them sat in his hangar?

I think Gary (retroaviation) posted a bunch of pix back in Jan or Feb that they may have been in????

I thought Connie had about 10 of them including a dual control version - agreed with Beachgirl - I know Gary posted those photos here.

Planes of Fame is working on theirs again. Not sure of the timeframe. Maybe Cindy knows?
