Collings TBM

Several years ago there was talk about possibly doing "Flight Experiences" aboard their TBM Avenger. This was around the same time they started giving rides on the B-25 (03 or 04?).

I'm just wondering if the plans are still in the works or if they decided not to do it? Thanks in advance.

When the B-25 was added to the exemption letter that we have to do flight experiences, the TBM was added as well.

The problem with the TBM is that there is only one seat (besides the pilot's seat) that has any visibility at all. There is a second seat back in the belly that has very limited visibility. The turret is not available as a seat for takeoff and landing. That means that the majority of any flight experience cost would have to be covered by the one person that has good visibility. The price would be pretty significant when operating the 2600 and paying insurance for the flights for hire.

The option is still there to do the flights, but the interest has not been high enough for us to go through the last of the paperwork and expense to make it happen.
