Funny word, bdk; I've been following this restoration closely, but only heard about this work myself yesterday! Thanks for the link.

The P-40's not exactly rare, while not common, but the Merlin birds are. There's a recovered wreck in Italy, Judy Pay's P-40F at Tyabb, the sister-aircraft to this one which is being converted to an Allinson engined example by the RNZAF Museum and the recent announcement of an F for Stephen Grey at Precision at Wangaratta.

Judy's machine has just had the first engine runs recently. See:
