Warbird down in Lake in the Hills IL

Just saw a plane down item on the 10pm news here in Chicago. Video showed a warbird of some kind. All Blue with a star on the side. T-6 type of canopy.
Thats all I could get from the brief video.
The plane was upright in deep brush. Wings seemed in tact. No fire. seemed to be close to the airport.
no report on injuries...
Anyone catch any details?

It was a Yak 52, It was Fatal for the crew of 2, not known what caused the crash but they had just taken off from the airport when they ran into trouble.

The single-engine plane left Lake in the Hills Airport about 2 p.m., made a hard left, then crashed into a 450-acre conservation area near Randall and Ackman Roads in Lake in the Hills, the McHenry County Conservation District said.
Officials did not release the men's identities Monday night.
Local and federal authorities, including the National Transportation Safety Board, responded, said Terry Williams, a spokesman for that agency.
"We will look for the probable cause, but that will take quite some time," he said.
Lake in the Hills Village President Ed Plaza said he had no information about who was on board or the cause of the crash. The airport handles "tens of thousands" of takeoffs and landings per year for recreational fliers and business travelers, he said.
He did not know whether the airport would be open Tuesday.
"I imagine it will be open when the FAA allows it to be open," he said.

Thanks guys, It is frustrating to see the glossed over acounts of such things on TV news.
As I search around on the web there are very few details. I should have guessed at the Yak-52. Kind of odd paint scheme.
from the video I saw, it was very much in tact. Sad that the flyers lost their lives.
It has been a rough summer for warbirds.

David Burdine was apparently one of the pilots of the Yak-52. We featured him flying his blue and red MiG-17 in a past issue of Warbird Digest. He was a former F-14 pilot and a very accomplished instructor. God Speed David.
