I thought I posted, but it didn't work.

I'm confused with this pic. I thought red bars were only added after the USAAF became the USAF in 1947, but this aeroplane encourages people to join the 'AAF'. Unless AAF stands for something other than 'Army Air Force', I can't see why it would be on a USAF-marked machine.
