ETO aces lost to ground fire and to enemy aircraft

Wed Aug 29, 2007 6:46 am

Dear all,
as I am interested in strafing missions I am wondering how many ETO aces were lost to ground fire rather then to enemy aircraft. I have an official list of all Eighth Air Force aces based on USAAF (European Theater of Operations) Credits For The Destruction of Enemy Aircraft In Air-To-Air Combat In World War 2 by F. Olynyk, which was published in Fighters of the Mighty Eighth by William N. HESS and IVIE, Thomas G. IVIE. Any assistance would be appreciated. The result of this research will be posted into my blog soon, I hope.
Thanks a lot. Regards, Filip
