According to Freeman/Osborne, this B-17F was built by Boeing at Seattle and delivered on 6/11/43, then assigned to base units at Buckingham (?) in August 1943, Roswell, NM in October 1944, Williams, AZ in November 1943, La Junta, NM in May 1945, then sent for disposal at Stillwater, OK, in July 1945.
It was one of the 475 aircraft sold as surplus to Paul Mantz and partners in February 1946. Most likely, it was subsequently dismantled at Stillwater and shipped out on railcars for smelting elsewhere.
