Is there a reason why the .50 barrels on the top turret aren't visible in the photo?

Didn't Curtis LeMay have all of the turret guns removed (along with other stuff) to lighten the planes, or were the turrets removed as well?
Also notice it has the red stripe in the national insignia so it's a post-WWII photo. (red stripe added in Jan 1947)

Note the radar in the forward lower turret bay. Is this an early weather recon configuration? Also, if you blow the photo up, there appears to be a phantom of "Air Rescue ___" on the forward fuselage. Could it be a SuperDumbo? That would explain resiting the radar in order to have fitted a lifeboat at some earlier point.
