I have got to get to this museum. What is up with the spruce goose cockpit area. It looks like they made a cutaway out of part of it.

Beautiful museum and collection. Why is the B-17 no longer a flyer?

Great pics & planes. It's a shame they never fly anymore.

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought that they did fly some of them from time to time.

I believe the original cut-out was done at the Long Beach Museum site when it first went on display many years ago. I think they had a set of stairs that went all the way up to that section so people could see the cockpit.

It's a shame they never fly anymore. Why??

The answer to that question could take hours and why more energy than I have :? They have poured some big bucks ino the very neglected 51 so Mick Simmons can fly it to the gathering.

What's the story on that A6M? It looks original, but appears to have had some restoration/conservation work. Is it part of an ongoing restoration?

A friend and I did a bunch of work on the SNJ which was horribly neglected. Now it's been worked over and a zero time fire wall forward but has never flown with it 5-6-7 years later. What a waste!
