photographs-question for you collectors out there

Fri Aug 10, 2007 10:52 am

For those here that collect war time photographs....how do you normally go about abtaining these? So far I've only looked around ebay. But do some of you go through records and write letters to relatives of service men? Asking them if they have any photos left over from there loved ones?

I asked the same question to our infamous JC and he told me just looking at estate sales, etc. etc. and digging really hard to get them. I guess you just have to get out and know where to look for them.

No, that would be rude

Actually I never said ect-ect. I said estate sales, garage sales, borrowing from vets who I have a relationship with, trading with friends who also collect and National Archives.

I find a trip to the National Archives will get you more photographs then you will know what to do with in the shortest amount of time....they only have about 29 billion it seems........and they always should be credited as the source.....NARC....I like that
