Wildcat Identification

OK you sharpies...I have a question...
I've been enjoying those fabulous Grumman photos posted by "armyjunk2" and there's a photo of a Wildcat--photo #15 on this page:

...that has me wondering. Is that an F4F-4? The paint looks like the tricolor Atlantic scheme...which I've seen (in other photos) mostly used on FM-2s on Atlantic Jeep carriers. But the Wildcat has the short tail, so it's not an FM-2. But I don't see the under-the-fuselage windows. And looking at the wings in this photo and the next one (#16), it only appears to have two guns per wing (unless that smudge further out on the wing is the 3rd gun??).
So is this an F4F, or maybe an FM-1? I'm still learnin' my Wildcats, so any help you can give me in the way of spotting features would be greatly appreciated.

FM-1s were using on jeep carriers in the Atlantic along with FM-2s.

Wow Jack, that had to be some sort of record for "fastest response"! So is that an FM-1 then?

No worries...priorities! I was feeding the squirrels in the back yard peonuts so they'd come up close to the door and keep my cat occupied...but had to lay off because they were getting to the point where they hung around the screen door en masse trying to figutre out how to slide it open and let themselves in!! 
Anyway...back to the Wildcats...were there large numbers of FM-1s before they changed over to FM-2 models?

We have a small feeder box for the squirrels on a tree outside.
The other day I caught a guy stopping by for a frick'in snack and
eating the their nuts

Ahhh...squirrillus wingnutei...I had heard rumors of them of course, but have never laid Mark I's on them myself...fabulous photograph you caught of this one in his natural habitat!!
