20,000 B24 Drawings available

Fri Aug 03, 2007 2:07 pm

I picked this off the Flypast forum. Not sure if Gary is still looking for any drawings at all that this guy may have?

Hi,

We have a complete set of (around 20,000) authentic B24 drawings (scanned from microfiche as tiff files).

They come on 36 CDs - details on www.warbirdsrestoration.com.

At the moment we're only offering complete disks but I'd be happy to talk to anyone who is interested in individual drawings of this great plane.

Regards

I have checked into these two years ago, The set he has are all later model drawings, not what Gary would need. We have the correct set of drawings but they are all on 35 mm micro film tapes and many are unreadable.

Unfortunately several aircraft microfilm sets have large portions that are unreadable. There are major problems with the Mustang film/CD sets. Probably the best set I have found is that for P-40D thru M. I have tried to view each frame and have not found one that is bad.

BTW- I have a wartime pamphlet type text book that was issued by the Navy to aid/tutor new workers in the expanding aircraft industry on the intracacies of the various disciplines of manufacture. This one. IIRC, deals with mock ups and shows photos of B-24 in mock-up stage. As apparently originaly invisioned, it had a very futuristic look in the nose glazing that took in the bombardier's station and the flight deck, well past the pilot's seats. Kind of Hienkle looking but much better! If I can post a scan I will.
