This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Anyone familiar with the CAF B-25 "Show Me"? I was just wondering a few things...
Will it be airborne again this year? Engine troubles, correct?
When was it repainted? In comparing pics I took as a kid (I built a model of it for 4-H in '88) and now, the nose art has been changed (stylistically). Just curious why they did that.
And just for giggles, Today I'm wearing a Tshirt that I bought from them in '87. Yes, I've kept it all these years are only wear it on "special" occaisions.

I can't answer any of your questions specifically, but I believe that the aircraft was used in a film and that that was the reason for the different versions of the nose art. (someone please correct me if I'm mistaken... I'd like to know for sure myself)
I rather liked the older artwork... from an artist's standpoint it was much 'more better' lookin' than what's on there now. There was perhaps a bit more detail on the pinup, and her face had a lot more character...

Hey Django, you must be on every MB I'm on. You helped me with my avitar on the HAMB.
The shots and vid of Back seat Betty are very cool. Kev the Riveter! (or did he just claim to do all that hammerin).
I still owe you a 6 of Warbird Red-
Steve, If you're interested in current shots, Have you seen the C-46 that is at the Curtis Wright museum in Hamondsport NY? It's on cement piers in a swamp, but you can get right up to it... if you watch for snakes.
I have a bunch of shots from 2005 or 2006. It has no marking at all on it. there might be a view of it on their web site.

Hi Django,
As of several weeks ago our wing was searching for a rebuildable core or replacement for "Show Me's" left engine. Our volunteer mechanics have been facing one set back after another. They replaced several jugs at the beginning of the season and everything went well until one test flight showed high temps in that engine. After bringing her back down safely the engine seized

! I haven't been out to the wing in a couple of weeks so I currently don't know her status. Let's hope she makes it back before the whole season is a wash.........Regards, John

Chad! The new engines have been run and barring any other delays, "Show Me" should be getting ready to get some air under her wings any day.....
The TBM got her new engine last Nov and flew home.. She should be ready to fly very soon. She is also sporting some rocket rails for the new year...... Alan
The pictures shown below are from the Minnesota Wing blogpage, showing the prop missing from the right engine, which had been briefly loaned to "Miss Mitchell" and now returned......
