Total # of B-25's Thunder over Michigan

Mon Jul 16, 2007 11:02 pm

Greetings
Was wondering what was the final # of B-25 that were at Thunder over MI ?

Mon Jul 16, 2007 11:09 pm

It's been reported by others here that there were 15 on the ground and in the air.

If I remember the list correctly, the only no show was Wild Cargo. One other was listed (Yellow Rose??) but scratched a month or so before the event due to mechanical gremlins.

And the sound was enough to give you goosebumps on a sweltering afternoon.

Actually, I believe that's the Fighter Factory bird now painted as the Doolittle Raider.

Here are all 15 at once:

The photo itself isn't impressive...it's knowing that 15 B-25s were headed straight towards you that was truly impressive.

Compare to the sight 2 years ago:

Nope, that's Special Delivery. The LSFM's bird. Wild Cargo has basically been M.I.A. for awhile. I, at least haven’t seen any new pics of this B-25 in awhile.

Grumpy, Yellow Rose, Devil Dog, Barbie III, Wild Cargo, were suppose to make up the missing 5, and bring the total count up to an amazing 20!

I understand why Yellow Rose, Wild Cargo, didn’t make it but does anyone know why Barbie III, Devil Dog, and especially Grumpy didn’t make it? I was looking forward to seeing a Mitchell without stars on it.

Thanks for hanging around! I still have to say, GREAT Chance Vought shirts!!! That was really cool!

The flight home wasnt all that bad. We flew commercial back home. The B-25 is still at YAM until this Friday. From there she goes to the Peoria show then onto Oshkosh.

Thanks for all the photos...this PBJ fan really enjoyed them! Wish I could have been there to see that many B-25s at one location.
