landing gear door ID

Can anyone tell me about this door i picked up recently I know it is from a F18 and is a damaged unit but whats with the anchor amblem image and also why no part numbers or anything on it?

The anchor stencil? is a NATO emblem indicating a tie-down point.

I imagine it wore off then as it is in its original paint. but strange with no partnumber or plate on it anywhere..........

Small parts like a gear door rarely have data plates. The part number is applied with either a contrasting color of paint on the inner surface or permanent ink. By the age of the part it has most likely been repainted at least once while in the field or has been washed so many times with strong soaps that the p/n has simpley been worn off.

I've seen new parts on aircraft that have never flown, that have lost their p/n identity. The part has either had to be repaired or modified after installation, or careless overspray or harsh cleaning has obliterated the p/n.
