My other Sickness

Greetings
Ok Like everybody else in this wonderful group I have to confess my other Sickness (according to my Wife
) For some it might be a Old Hotrod, or Trains, Bass Boat, maybe a 1929 B model John Deer Tractor that is setting to close to the Family car Which all the above I see no problem. I have a thing for WW2 Crash Rescue Trucks and Firefighting in General. I own a 1945 Chevey American, Barton Front Mount Pumper that was built in Battle Creek Michigan for the Army Air Core.
Dose anybody else know anybody that has one or a group that I might be able to share this Sickness ( info) with?
I hope that I get to the point where I can not be cured

That is a cool sickness in my opinion! Do you have any idea of where your truck was stationed during it's service? The archives at AFHRA have a large number of photographs from individual airfields (in some cases) that might show your vehicle while in service. Here is a good example from the McCook Army Air Field Base History:
As an aside, the Ford next to the ambulance was used by a nearby community as a fire truck for many years after being declared surplus and is now in the care of an avid collector in the McCook area.
A good friend of mine also grew up in the back part of the fire station during the late forties and early fifties. His parents had acquired the building and lived there for a number of years.

I will get a photo of our old Ford that we restored. Our FD (of which I have been a member for 22 years) restored one of the two based at Garner Field. It turned out beautiful.

I wish I knew where dads Class 110 was stationed. I know the registration number and I even know the name of the chief that accepted her, but no idea what field she was at.

Wow this is Awsome info that you all have shared with me ! I am a member of the Texas Fire Museum and I am the only one that has a AAF rated Truck . If you are ever in Dallas TX be sure to stop by and see the Museum or Visit the Web at Texasfiremuseum.com We recenty did recive a 1942 Ford Burma Jeep Tanker (One of three known) that was still in front line service in Shive Texas as of three years ago. I will try to post soon.
