LATEST WARBIRD DIGEST

Sun Jun 10, 2007 5:04 pm

Got my Warbird Digest yesterday in the mail. What a great article on Gary and Ole 927. Great work Gary! The cover shot with the engines running at night is something else. Any chance of getting that photo posted without the wording of the cover?
The PT-17 rebuild article helps keep those of us involved in getting planes back in the air a lot of hope that theh light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train.
To the guys that put the magazine out, keep up the great work. I got my first addition at Thunder when y'all started and haven't missed a copy. It keeps getting better.

Wow, I hope mine comes today! I got a sneak peak of the cover, and it is definitely a killer photo.

It was in the mailbox! And it was quite exciting to see my first published magazine article! 8)

Another fantastic issue--but I have some minor complaints:

I can't help but wonder if the P-38s mentioned inside were both J models. I know POF's is, and I was thinking Jack Croul's (I think that was his) was as well. I didn't know it was flying! :D

Survivors articles are always fascinating, but there's also a B-24L cockpit in Michigan somewhere (don't have my list of survivors with me), as well as the remains of the LB-30 in Colorado. It's always good to know there's more out there than what you think.

As a contributor (most of the photos for theB-24 survivors, and the past two issues on A-1 survivors) are from my collection, all I can say is that is very nice to receive additional information and photos. Here is an example of additional photos I received after the A-1 airticles were written. Aircraft is A-1D 127007 at China Lake, and then on display at the USS Yorktown.

It took only 1 day to read from cover to cover. Wish there was more to read! One of the few things I have to look forward to coming in the mail.

Jack Croul's P-38 is an L model. It sat in the museum in Camarillo for a couple of years. It looks great in the sky!

Which article did you write?

I just ordered a sub yesterday. I'm sick of reading about the new issues on here, than having to wait a few weeks to get it at Barnes and Noble, plus Tim and the gang make more money if I get a sub.
