Hi all,
Can someone tell me where I can find a list of Spitfire types?
I am sure that the Mk.I is a type 300 and the Mk.V a type 349, what about the other marks?
Thank you,
Graham.

I believe the two cockpit factory conversion had the number 509.

Vckers 'Type' list.
The most comprehensive 'Type' list that I have seen, and my principal reference, is Appendix I in the book 'Supermarine Aircraft since 1914' by C F Andrews and E B Morgan. Publisher Putnam ISBN 0-370-10018-2
The Vickers section starts at Type 178 Misc Drawings of February 1929 passing through all the multifaceted Spitfire and Seafire Marks and variants to the Type 576 , the Supersonic Scimitar.
