Here's one of the latest additions to my photo archives... a gorgeous shot showing a P-40F at rest in the evening before the sun goes down...

Well, not quite as romantic, but here's a P-40E at rest -- faded, stained and dripping.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Is that Dick Woodsen's ?

Yes it is -- later became "Holdin My Own" I believe. I only saw it fly once -- at an air show in 1974 or so up at Hamilton AFB. This picture was taken in the summer of 1975.

So John -- how long did it sit inactive at Livermore before selling. Was he actively trying to sell it during this time (mid to late 70s)?, Do you know how much it finallly sold for? I think I once counted something like 13 or 14 owners during the life of this thing.

Tim has a pretty impressive "hawk at rest" shot taken indoors at the American Airpower Museum, with the sunlight coming through the hangar door glass. Tim, share with us please  .............
