In the movie Tuskegee Airmen, one of the pilots takes her up for a flight as she questions the base commander as to why they have not been transfered out to combat. Did this event really take place, or was it made up for the film?

It did indeed take place, but I think not as dramatically as in the movie and it was in a Piper Cub!

well, i learned something today, didn't know it was a cub. 1 thing for sure, she was a great outspoken 1st lady, but what a bowzer (woof!!) even in her younger years!!
