This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

The Ed Kaleta F4H-1 project was recently sold to a fella here in Texas. Apparently the aircraft is now in this guy's front yard. He had the canopies ( ultra rare ) on the ground next to the airframe and some lowlifes stole them. Apparently the FBI is now involved in the investigation.
Can't have any F-4 parts get out to Iran, ya know.

Never mind that the canopies won't fit any of the later models.

If you are waiting for the FBI to find them, FORGET IT. They need a canopy snitch and the parts delivered to their offices.
I'd say start looking at the local scrap yards.
Best of luck finding them

Ditto. I'm a cop and they'll steal anything that's not nailed down so they can turn it in for scrap to get a few bucks for some dope. And I'm not talking fabric dope!

Someone should report this auction to the FBI. Doesn't hurt to investigate!

The canopy in the Ebay auction is a standard profile canopy. The canopies that were stolen were the earlier flat type from the F4H-1 series.
