Need Information on B-24J Liberator (44-40811)

Mon Mar 12, 2007 8:22 am

I am trying to locate pictures of my late uncle...Lt Albert Sita.

He was a navigator on a B24 J lLiberator (44-40811) shot down on a mission on 11-21-44. All 10 crew and a British correspondent were killed. The pilot's name was Mead. They were part of the 10th AF, 492 Bomb group, 7th BG.

I can only find 1 picture and that is of the "Mead Crew" on the 7th BG website.

Do you have any sources for pictures of the plane, crew or anything?

My mom (his sister) and I are putting together a memorable album for the Mansfield, Ma Historical Society.

Thank you

Hope this helps,
