Nose art from the 379th?

Wed Feb 21, 2007 8:32 am

First off...the book is called 'Laughter & Tears', and I'm sure most if you are familiar...but just in case. George Rarey was an amazing cartoonist and a P-47 pilot in the 379th. His son Damon (now deceased) put out a book in 1996 with many of his father's illustrations and letter. Captain Rarey was killed in a strafing attack, so he never saw his son.

One of the things he did was the nose art on his squadron's planes. I'm wondering if anyone (ahem,,,Jack Cook? Are you out there?) might have an yphotos of these...
