The airfield of the People's Democratic Republic of Brookshire, TX was briefly invaded this afternoon by a suitable marked Supermarine Spitfire Mk. something or another.

Yes, Elroy, he does . . . well, kinda. Covey Trails is probably some 10-15 road miles from the PDROB [PedroB : ) ]

I guess that Covey Trails' runway had dried out enough for him to take off yesterday; we have had a couple of days without rain and yesterday the weather was great.

Many aircraft were flying in and out of here, and many flying by.

By far, the Spitfire stole the show for the day.

Spitfire

Great photos guys! Man that is a good looking airplane! If you look at the side photo, really sit and study it, there is hardly a line or proportion that one could change to improve the apearance. This is a great thing about the Spitfire, not even counting how well it flies or its place in history. There is one small improvement possible, that if some young handsome aviator, like ME, was sitting in that cockpit, but it is great to see it out and flying. That's not the biggest airstrip at Covey Trails, you've got to be pretty good to go in there. I have looked at it from the air only. Coming out is no problem. Tell Rayborne I said hello, please.
