This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

That would be cool.
Think to remember when going to a tasteing....
Don't sample every beer
Don't drink all of every sample, unless it is a truely great beer
Don't try a beer twice
Eat a bunch before starting to sample
eat more after the 2nd table
eat more after 4th table...
PACE YOURSELF!
Trust me!

Quite to the contrary, it is the
pilots and the alcohol that mix! Although there
is the 8/12-hour-bottle-to-throttle rule, when not operating the aeroplane pilots and brew are a natural pair.

Are you sure you we're in the Navy? If so I bet you never spent much time in Fallon, or maybe you don't remember it. That base made many a sailor liver hurt! Oh the stories!

Been to Fallon but since I don't drink my liver never tingled. I poured many a drunk back in his rack through from Olongapo to San Diego.

If I was there I'd sure go. McCormick and Smick has very good seafood and is catering, plus the beer and the planes. It can be good to have a night with the clean fingernail crowd and maybe get some of them interested in warbirds.

Back in the 70's Budweiser did an awesome T.V. commercial using warbirds... My dad in the P-40, Lefty in the P-38, Jim Maloney in the Hellcat and Frank Sanders in his Sea Fury. Clay Lacy was in his Lear Jet as the camera ship. I have the commercial on VHS as well as all of the footage they shot filming it. Very cool stuff from back in the day. Someday I'll learn how to post this stuff for all to see.

I stayed away form TJ when I was there, I visited during the day and ran out before dark. Several of us in my shop would enjoy a 6 pack of Sam Adam and Dell Taco in the Base park before heading out to Sea. TJ and drunk saliors was a real bad combo, well, drunk sailor in general are a bad combo with anything and everything. I'm sure your far better off "dry". In ports I'd go 90% dry to enjoy the sights and say I saw more than the nearest bar to the pier. Very Glad I did also, got to see a lot of great things and meet some cool folks.

I know this one didn't use a 'real live' warbird....but this beer ad from the UK was one of the best.
It's release also co-incided with one of the World Cup's and that other England-Germany contest......
Enjoy....
