F-80s 51st FIW Korea

Speaking of F-80s here's a couple of the 51st FIW in Korea 1951-52.
In Korea BTW they were equipted with Misawa tip tanks.
BTW Post 1900
F-80C 25th FIS tail off for flak damage repair 3-1-51
F-80C FT-564 25th FIS hit by MIG-15
F-80C FT-795 16th FIS damaged by flak 1952

Great pics! My father was near the Chorwon resevoir in 1952 with the Royal Canadian Regiment and saw an American pilot punch out of an F-80 just seconds before it exploded. He said the tail section was glowing red it was so hot.
The pilot was recovered safely.
