I see that Courtesy Aircraft has "Su Su" SN#44-84850 for sale. Also the Douglas A-20G Havoc has sale pending I wonder where it will go.

I noticed a week or so back that Brian Reynold's AD-5W was listed has sold :(

The AD-5W is going to the guy who owns the P-51 "Miss America" or something. It is going to be at TOM.

For Sale

Yep... Mike is correct, "Doc" Hisey is the new owner of the Skyraider. It will be based with his other birds at Wiley Post. He has a growing collection and currently the CAF P-63F is in the hanger as well. On the Lone Star A-20 and FM-2, word is that Steve Searle has purchased both and they will be moving down under.....

I was at "Doc's" place today and checked out the P-63F. the AD-5 was supposed to be here by now but weather has put it off several times. Another addition coming is a P-51B that will be rebuilt here also. He's definately filling that museum!

Is this one of the 'new builds'? I don't know of any genuine, rebuildable P-51Bs still existing (other than the remains of Jackie Cochran's aircraft reportedly with Mike Couches ). http://www.warbirdinformationexchange.o ... hp?p=67064

Wasn't there a P-51B in a storage yard some where in Chino? I remember seeing a pic of it in Air Classics. I thought it was O.D. with a white spinner? I could be wrong, but it was pretty rough.

Well, I didn't want to sell the AD-5 but the Corsair restoration has eaten me out of house and home the last few years and something had to give. The Corsair should be worth it. I hope.

I dunno about Air Classics, but in the January/February issue of Warbirds International (just so happend to be thubing through the issue today), there is a short blurb in the news section about a P-51B project at Pacific Fighters, and a pair of pictures of an OD -51B with a white spinner. The caption reads:

"North American P-51B s/n 43-12112 was stationed with a training unit in Florida during the war and was involved in a collision with another Mustang on 24 November 1943. The remains were recovered from a lake and are now with Pacific Fighters for restoration."

From the pictures in the article it looks pretty darn good for having been in a mid-air with another mustang and having been sitting in a lake for 50 odd years.

I would hope that it would look good. Not one single things from the crashed P-51B was used. not even the data plate. They needed paperwork. :?

Jack,

This is a different airframe. The one from Florida (Deans Mustang) is being rebuilt by Teeters for Jack Roush. There is another airframe at Pacific Fighters that is substantially complete, which is mentioned above.
