New Planes at MAPS

Tue Dec 19, 2006 6:54 pm

Trucks arrived last Saturday and today to two complete aircraft as well as the rest of the parts of our Century Series aircraft. The F-86D and T-37 don't look in too bad of condition but will need lots of work to make them look good. As for the Century Series, no time frame has been established yet, but the goal is to at least get them on their gear as soon as possible, which will probably be in the spring. :D

(I would have had more pictures, but my batteries ran out and for some reason I didn't have any extras! )

Where did the F-86 come from?

Tue Dec 19, 2006 9:48 pm

The F-86 is actually a F-86L (F-86D upgrade) serial number 53-00658 from Florida Military Aviation Museum in Clearwater, FL.

F-86L is an upgrade conversion of F-86D with new electronics, extended wingtips and wing leading edges, revised cockpit layout and uprated engine.

The T-37 is 54-02732 aquired from the same place.

Sure would be cool to see a D/L model Saber flying.
