Goodyear FG-1A Corsair
Vought F4U-4 Corsair
Sikorsky HRS-1 Chickasaw
McDonnell-Douglas AV-8B Harrier II
Curtiss JN-4HG
DH-4 (replica)
UH-1E Iroquois
TBM-3 Avenger
Grumman F9F Panther
Sikorsky Dragonfly
Yokosuka Ohka
Douglas A-4E Skyhawk
Grummand F4F-4 Wildcat
Ass end of a CH-47E
... and that's all I can remember

Hope this helps.

Cheers. Richard

PS. They also have the actual flag raised over Iwo Jima, and as big a corsair fan as I am, that was the one thing that really gave me chills!

Is there an official website? Where are they located?

Hi Mike... they are located in Quantico, Virginia, just down the road from me. The website is as follows...

http://www.usmcmuseum.org/

The site is brand new, so may not be as comprehensive as it will be once they've got it all up and running. It really is a fabulous museum, but some of the aviation exhibits are a little tough to see due to the compromises they've had to make to exhibit more than just the aircraft. You should come down and see it some time...

All best,
Richard

This is the one that just recently opened and the one Brad visited, correct?

Is it a replacement for the Marine Corps Air-Ground Museum? If so is it the same set of aircraft?

Mike

Where exactly was the former Marine Air/Ground museum located at? Did it happen to be on the Officer Candidate School grounds there in Quantico?

Thanks for the great pics.

Mike, Yes this is the same museum Brad visited and posted his photos. Only a handful of the planes that were at the Air-Ground Museum are on display at the new museum. Some of the planes from the Air-Ground Museum have been loaned out to other museums while others I assume are in storage.

Isn't one of the Corsairs the one that belonged to Glenn Hyde at 52F?

Didn't they cut the wings of with some type of saw?

Nope. That one is at the Liberal Kansas Museum.
