Another photo from NARA which I thought interesting.

PBY in Dark Sea Blue
PBJ-1J in Dark Sea Blue, looks like a white radome on the wing. Rare color on PBJ's in general.
PB4Y-2 in Dessert Tan(?) but with PB4Y-1 nacelles/cowling.

I note that the PB4Y-2(?) if that is what it is, has the horizontally aligned radiators more common to the B-24/PB4Y-1, rather than the PB4Y-2.

Is it possible this is a modified B-24N or some other "lone wolf" B-24/PB4Y-2 hybrid/prototype/test bed?

That's why I mentioned it. What exactly is it? The color as well.

Is it not the XPB4Y-2 "Patuxent River Wart Hog"?

Winner!

From Joe Baugher, 32086, 32095, 32096 converted to XPB4Y-2 Privateer.

While 096 had the B-24 nacelle/cowlings 086 used the PB4Y-2 cowlings. https://www.history.navy.mil/content/hi ... -2&start=0

I think the color is just very faded Olive Drab. Many weathered B-17s ended up a similar shade, almost the color of peanut butter.
