Warbird Information Exchange

The Queensland Air Museum at Caloundra, Australia urgently needs a pair of bomb bay doors for its Ventura A59-96 (Bu 49555). Can anyone assist please?

It was a good idea, it just didn't work.

Ventura and Harpoon doors are completely different. I'm afraid you might have to fabricate them from drawings.

The Museum of Transport and Technology in Auckland, NZ has a B-34 Lexington which I think is being restored right now - they may be worth contacting too?

We've already tried MOTAT. We also tried the SAAF Museum in South Africa.

A special source says that NARA should have a set of PV-1 films in Can/Box USN2676a

It turns out that NASM does have B-34 microfilm that should work. Should you order a copy of the films I would be happy to scan them.

Are the Ventura doors the same as Hudson doors,maybe just longer?

No worries, disappointing to hear that well's dry though. Good luck! I saw photos of the Ventura on Facebook and she looks really good.
