Can anyone tell me what engine/aircraft this magneto was used on please? It came with a lot of unidentified parts from WW2 crashes in the UK. It has a black crinkle finish and looks identical to an American Bosch SF9LC3 magneto. Spec number AN-9511 currently on ebay.

The first pictures are of the relic, the second of the identical looking mag on ebay.

If I can ID the engine type/aircraft type it was used on I stand a good chance of getting an ID on the actual crashed aircraft from the guy I got it from.

My Wright 1820 parts catalog indicates it MAY have been used on that engine. This engine powered B-17's among others........

SF9L3 is approved for various models of the Wright 1820. Not sure what the "C" means. Could have to do with radio suppression or????
