Following on from a recent thread celebrating the 75th anniversary of the first flight of a particular sub-model of the NAA Family of NA-16 to T-6 trainers, I thought those interested in the type might be interested in a recent sale on ebay that I have been following, (and resisting the strong temptation to bid).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181513960277

A time capsule early member of the T6 family - the RCAF Yale, and without being sure of hidden issues of spar corrosion etc, this looks to have been a brilliant purchase at just $20k USD.

If I didn't already have a lifetime of projects in cold storage in my shed I would have happily clicked the bid button on this one myself, and explained the new acquisition to the family a few days later - (It worked for a PBY purchase?).

The Yale is an interesting member of the iconic NAA trainer family, and it would have been nice to see one operating in Australia next to its Wirraway cousins and younger T6/SNJ/Harvard nephews.

I would also like to make it absolutely clear in here (and applicable to all such forums that I post in, and have posted in for @ 15 years??), as to who I am posting "on behalf of" at any one time.

Despite my various memberships or even office bearer roles in any specific organisations, clubs, or other entities (including my employer), - when I post in a public forum, and the name under my posts is simply "Mark Pilkington", then my posts, and comments are written and authorised by myself, and "on behalf of myself", and not "on behalf of any one else", or "any organisation" I may somehow be involved with, or associated with.

(To assume otherwise, is to make an incorrect assumption.)

Regards

Mark Pilkington

Way too much for whats there. They cost nearly as much as a T6 to restore and aren't worth that much when they are done. I like them though. :P
