This photo depicts three B-17's that appear being dismantled, presumably for spares: 43-37708; 43-37720; and 44-85544. Available record card data indicates all were assigned to 4000 BU, Patterson Field at about the same time in 1946. I have not been able to correlate the airfield features in the background with any positive identification. However, the very large hangar appearing at the right edge of the photograph certainly is distinctive. Can anyone help identify this location?

All ideas welcome. Thanks very much.

Mike

Thank you so much for the quick response with the proper identification. That really helps, and reinforces the theory these aircraft were being dismantled to support B-17 operations at W-P.
