Well, I´d say that´s up to Mr. Heinz. His Mustang, his choice of color. (If I had one -which never will be-, I would paint it pink. Just to read the comments here) :axe:

I agree that anyone can paint their aircraft whatever colour they like :) And this one looks great! Was just wondering what the last historical point of view was on this scheme. Not particularly on this aircraft.

As claimed elsewhere, a pseudo 361st Fighter Group scheme. Wrong shade of blue tho... :axe:

Doh! Error corrected!

This airplane was a project aircraft from parts, built by Don Weber in Baton Rouge LA. in the late 70's.
Don painted the airplane as he saw fit, & the original name of the aircraft was "DAMNFINO", because Don worked this project a good while before it was flyable. Folks would come by and ask Don, "when ya gonna be done", Don would say damnfino! So thats where the original name came from. Don renamed it "Buster" years later.
The registry link below is in error about the aircraft's name (believe me I know, I have worked on the aircraft on many occasions back in the early 80's)
You guys can piss & moan about paint, but bottom line is, the darn Thing is still flying!

For my driveway, I'd prefer one with a heater.
