Does anyone "in-the-know" know the plans for this Crusader. Is she to be restored to flying status? I've inquired over on their Facebook page but haven't heard back. Thanks for any input. https://www.facebook.com/fightingclassics

Maj has been around here in the past but has been busy traveling back and forth to Washington to rescue the S-2 he purchased after the auction up there a few months back.
He is a good guy and wish him the best on his recovery quest.

Wow, hope she does have a promising future planned. The two FHC have look like they're in great shape, based on some photos I found from 2005.

That would be awesome to see a F-8 flying! Especailly since it sounds like there will be no modern USN or USAF jets at air shows for some time!

These were the two Crusaders operated by Thunderbird Aviation here in the Phoenix area. I had the great pleasure of watching one of these birds perform at a Luke AFB open house about 15 years ago. It still remains one of the best low level routines I've witnessed by a jet of any kind. I would love to see an F-8 on the airshow circuit.

I agree. I'd love to see more early jets return to the sky- F-8s, F9Fs, F-84s, and then there are those F-80s up in Connecticut. They need to be saved.

Only one of the Thunderbird F-8s was flyable, the other was close, it needed the cockpit fitted out and avionics installed. If they ever decide to fly one again, I have a truck load of test gear for it.

As I only ever got to see a crusader on the ground (a RF-8G at an airshow when I was a kid, and four more later sitting at AMARG, I'd LOVE to see a crusader take to the skies again!
