Hi,

Looking for the diameter of B-17 tires (main & tail) as part of a possible recovery.

Regards,

Paul

hi Paul,

My references give 55 inches for B-17E&F, and 56 inches for B-17G, for the main wheel, while the tail wheel is 26 inches.

HTH,

Laurent

The B-17 main landing gear tires are 56" in diameter. I am not sure of the tail wheel diameter.

The tail wheel for the E, F, and G is 26".

The shark tailed planes had a smaller wheel, which I believe was 19".
