my buddy flew b-57's out of japan in the late 50's early 60's. when president kennedy was killed his unit was on full alert. he sat in his 57 for many hours with a live nuke under him amidst the confusion & panic that followed. he had his canopy blow off on a prior training mission & was needless to say in quite an emergency, he made it back to base safely though, however i can't even imagine the pucker factor in that situation.
