Hi guys. I was wondering if somebody could supply me with information of USS Ranger CV-4. My grandfather was on her for 3 years but have really no info that was saved. I would like to know what squadrons and aircraft she carried or transfered to along the war years. Iv'e seen photo's of p-40's, wildcats and tbms or tbfs but no info. I was trying to find out if she even carried f4u's at one point. If anyone has some input i'd love to here some history. Thanks! :D

This book has everything your heart could possibly desire on the Ranger... it's extraordinarily well researched and written (typical of Cressman's work), and I think you'll really enjoy it.

This link should take you to the NavSource page for the Ranger with dozens of photos. At the bottom of the entry will be a link to the Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships entry for the Ranger this is a capsule history of the ships career. http://www.navsource.org/archives/02/04.htm
