I believe that was the old A-10 mock-up that was used to test the GAU-8 firing prior to the A-10 Test Period. It use to be at the museum.

It can all be "saved" as long as you consider the stuff useful in 4" x 4" chunks. There's always the Law of Conservation of Mass and Energy if the "mutilated" remains of an A-10 are not comforting enough. It's ok to buy a British Harrier of an ex-Soviet/Russian MiG-29 but not that nearly complete A-10 cockpit. Of course that policy makes complete sense, right? :?
