In reading the posts about Gary I was totally shocked and saddened by the news of his suicide! I lost a friend a few years ago to suicide, this was a friend I knew since he was in diapers. I have learned that there are at least two types of suicidal threats, one is a cry for attention the other is a cry for help! I've experienced both cases. My ex-girlfriends sister said she wanted to kill herself but it was a cry for attention to her mom, and recently another of my best friends said he wanted to "check out." Both of these situations made the hair on my neck stand up, and caused me to lock on and do what I could to listen and offer them help.

My message to all of you is, if you know someone who is depressed or are acting in a way that causes alarm, please please reach out to them. Maybe all they need is someone to understand them. Or someone to listen to them. Whatever you do take it seriously!! Suicide is no joke and it can not be taken back!

I offer to all of you an ear for listening and a shoulder to cry on! If you need someone to listen to your problems, PLEASE PM me!!!!! I will offer my phone number and my time 24/7 365!

If you are depressed and have thoughts of suicide there are many many places that offer free help. All it takes is the courage to ask for it.

in many cases the most talented and truly brilliant folks are also prone to be more "tormented" by their own demons. Its really sad to think of how many folks who were influenced and touched by these folks...and they were not told until it was too late.
If you appreciate someone make sure to tell them-- it may help them realize that they are indeed gifted folks....and we all need them around.
