Since alot of us didn't personally know him very well, but loved him and his wonderful threads on here. I wish there was a thread on Gary, with such information like why did he leave CAF, what work was he doing since leaving, maybe all this has been covered before and I missed it.
Was he ever married etc. We need a kind of a lifes story on Gary.
I sure wish I would have called him last week like I was planning, other things kept my mind off it.

Wow, I was thinking of posting this exact sentiment. Since I've dealth with a LOT of loss in the last 4-5 years, I often think of one of my favorite Harry Chapin songs, "Story of a life", and I wish that good people like Gary had people keep the stories of their lives going more than is oft the case.

I am in awe of people who can accomplish so much and still be great friends to so many, like Gary seems to have been. I can only seem to be "either or". Either I'm working my butt off and having little contact with others, or I'm in a real social mode and don't get shipp done.

Not to mention that I'm in awe of anyone who flies an SNJ!

I know one thing, Johnny Mandel and Mike Altman were wrong, Suicide is NOT painless.

I would love to see some kind of biography on Gary. Maybe something with all of his accomplishments and things that people don't know about him. I'm not talking personal things, but interesting tidbits of info that may not be well known. For example, the fact that Gary was "Rookie of the year" at the Reno Air Races. Lots of people are probably not aware of that. That is the kind of thing I am talking about.

I too would like to know more about the relationship between Gary and the CAF. It seems like a lot of that is personal, though, as it hasn't been talked a lot about here.
