Seems like this has been discussed before, but I don't see it in a search of posts.
There is an A-1E/G at Pensacola marked as 135018 and the nose cowl says "810". It wears 132532 under the horizontal.
There is another A-1E/G at Pima marked the same (although photos of it in 1991 show different unit markings and "703" on the cowl. These are probably its last active duty markings). It, apparently, is the real 135018.
Anyone have any insight as to why the scheme was so closley repeated?
The one we have at Pima is the real 135018. I don't know why the other one was painted the same but I can guess. There is a really good color photo of 018 in one of the books on the Skyraider.
