The Warbird Heritage Foundation of Waukegan Illinois is looking for an original Allied WWI airplane for static display. Please contact me if you know of one looking for a good home.

Thank you,
David

I wish you luck...but are you aware of how valuable and rare original WWI airplanes are?

Aside from a couple of Standard J-1 basket case projects (which surprised me at a local antique aircraft fly-in) even projects are rare.

We sure are aware of how valuable they are or can be. That's one of the considerations in having one that is presentable as a static versus an airworthy example. It's entirely possible that we don't find what we are looking for, but the search will be fun!

At the rate that the Old Rhinebeck aerodrome is crashing them, there should be one available in short order. :o

If you want to find one of these, you might try asking some of the people who operate them, like the Shuttleworth Trust in England, or the guys The Vintage Aviator) building new ones to original design in New Zealand (right down to the last nut and bolt). The Vintage Aviator Website has to be seen to be believed to be quite honest!

Cheers,
Richard
